- Policy: Standards & Labeling for energy-efficient appliances; Perform, Achieve & Trade programme for energy-intensive industries; Energy Conservation Building Code for commercial buildings; Market Transformation to LED lighting
- Financing: Integration of clean-energy technologies in World Bank financing; utilization and mainstreaming of GEF and Montreal Protocol funds; business model framework of the Green Climate Fund; Aggregation and bulk procurement of LED lights for market transformation; Creation of a Partial Risk Guarantee Fund and a Venture Capital Fund to stimulate investment in energy efficiency
- Institutional Development: Development of Energy Engineering Division at TERI; Vision, Approach and Operations of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency; Business Model Framework and Institutional Policies of the Green Climate Fund; Setting up and operationalization of a CDM business in Suzlon Energy Ltd.
- International Negotiations: Lead Indian (and G-77) negotiator on issues related to the development & transfer of technology in the climate change negotiations, 2007-2011, leading to the successful creation of the Technology Mechanism and the Clean Technology Centre & Network
- Research: Design, characterization and development of fluidized bed boilers, and of fuel cells
